IFM Conference Hall
The culture and congress centre occupies the special-project zone of the Istanbul Financial Centre in Ataşehir, the district being built as Turkey's new financial quarter. Commissioned by Emlak Konut GYO, the 22,000 m² building is the cultural counterpart to the offices and institutions around it.
Its core is a conference hall for some two thousand people, planned to carry the summits and congresses that a financial centre produces — economy, finance, energy, fintech, Islamic finance — and, between them, to hold an audience for concerts, performance and exhibitions.
The programme therefore had to work in two registers at once, as the disciplined machinery of a congress venue and as a public cultural building open to the rest of the city. The project was developed with a full consultant team covering acoustics, stage and professional systems, lighting design, fire strategy and wayfinding.
